I was born in a Muslim family during a war. It was dangerous times, so my parents gave me to another family far from home so I’ll be safe. The family who adopted me happened to be Christians; Roman Catholic, specifically. They baptized me with a Christian name. Growing up, I was in great hands. My foster family took care of me and provided for me. But I still wonder how my original family are, who they are, and where they are. Nonetheless, I can say I’m very happy with my life. I’m an elected official and the farm manager of a well-run business. I’m very thankful of my family back home and the family in the company I work in. Currently, we’re helping farmers help their families so they can send their children to school. I may not have lived my life but with my original family, but I hope they’ll be proud in what I’ve become.
