Meet Noraiza, a survivor of Zamboanga Siege and one of the countless displaced by the conflict. Being a widow, she and her only daughter depend on each other in their pursuit for a better life. “Grabe ang nerbiyos ko noong Zamboanga Siege. Nagtatakbuhan kami palayo sa putukan. Iniwan namin ang mga bahay namin, nakakatakot ang palitan ng putok ng baril. Nagkahiwalay pa kami ng anak ko, sa kabilang barangay siya napunta. Ako naman kasama ko ang mga kapitbahay namin na nag-evacuate. Takot na takot ako. Umalis kami sa Sta. Barbara, Zamboanga City pagkatapos ng gyera. Wala na ang bahay namin eh, wala na ring kabuhayan. Inaya ako ng anak ko na lumipat sa Maynila, dito na raw siya maghahanap ng trabaho. Ngayon ay may bahay na kaming tinitirhan dito sa Culiat, Quezon City. Maayos naman kami. Dito sa Culiat ay peaceful, maganda ang buhay namin dito. Magdadalawang taon na kami rito sa January.”
